I've seen many people arguing over what they think "furry" should be. They all think that THEY know best and that if you put across your view that "you dare to question or tell a furry about what furry is or should be?" Well yes I do, because I am a furry myself, so obviously I have my own views on what it should be!
Well I am going to give the REAL and detailed description of what furries are:
Furries are anthropomorphic beings that are of human form possessing the characteristics and features of animals like e.g. to your left

This one is MY fursona; The Wolf Goddess
Pressing on, some people or "furries" who's pronouns should be referred to as "everyfur" as with humans "everyone"
think that furries are people who dress up as animals and the characters of this nature we see in artwork and simulations are catagorized as simply "anthropomorphic beings". As if they are separate. Well I can tell you, they are not! The collective noun to describe all of these, are FURRIES. Anthropomorphism is but a subcategory, describing what furries are in appearance.
Overall, furry is a subculture consisting of people who have an inner animal that they want to let come out dressing as them, forming themselves into the mythical being of part animal; part human. And also the artwork, idolising the anthro beings. The people dress as these characters to become them so how is this separate?
However, the people who are fans of furries (the characters) but do not dress as them, are merely "furry fans" I do not see how they can call themselves "furries" as a title when they do not perform the action or live as the mentioned. Consider this, if you were crazy about football, watched matches regularly but did not play the game yourself, you wouldn't call yourself a footballer, would you? You would be a fan, so how can only a fan of furry, call themselves a furry? It would not make sense
